Christy L. Phillips, Sr. Vice President, Director of Research, received her BS in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Christy’s credentials stretch back to her 1986 entry into the investment business as a research analyst, where she has primarily served in a senior analyst capacity. Her employment background includes significant experience with securities and investment firms including Wachovia, Lehman Brothers, Equitable Securities, Smith Barney, Indepth Research, LLC, and Coker, Palmer, Phillips, & Mullens, Inc. Christy’s research experience has included industry concentration and generalist responsibilities.

Christy joined Oak Value in 2003 as a Vice President and Senior Analyst, was promoted to Director of Research in March 2005 and has been a shareholder of the firm since 2006. In March 2006, she joined the firm's decision making Investment Committee.

M. Burke Koonce, Vice President, Research Analyst, received his BA in English and his MBA from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC.  His professional history includes more than seven years of experience in investment research positions at Merrill Lynch and Silverback Asset Management. He also served as a Business Reporter for the Triangle Business Journal in Raleigh, NC for three years.  Burke joined Oak Value in October, 2005.

Alicia L. Adams, Associate Research Analyst, received her BA in English Literature at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC and her Masters in Technical Communication from North Carolina State University. Prior to joining Oak Value in September, 2005, she was a project lead - managing program data, budgets, session arrangements, and logistics for several professional development programs at the Principals' Executive Program of North Carolina.

Cathleen M. Edge, Research Assistant, received her BA in Political Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC. Prior to joining Oak Value in November 2006, she served as an Associate Researcher at Indepth Research, LLC and as an Agency Support Operations Coordinator with Investors Title Insurance Co.
